Montrose is located on the Rakaia River with 2 km of river frontage. There are plenty of possibilities to fish for salmon from the shore or take a jet boat ride to fish a location that is not accessible from the land. Cast your lure and get ready for the powerful of the river run salmon. We can arrange professional guides who can teach you all you need to know to fly fish and show you the hidden streams in the high country. A wide range of guided trips are available including fly fishing for trout and salmon in spring creeks, mountain streams, lakes and snow fed rivers, fly casting lessons, raft based trips and Heli-fishing an absolute must to access the most remote waters provide the thrill of a lifetime!
